Renal Transplant Surgery

With around 170 kidney transplants performed annually at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre comes an outstanding opportunity for fellowship training in kidney transplantation surgery. The quality of medical care and outcome, wealth of complex cases, and highly qualified staff enhance the learning environment for everyone.

By the end of the two-year surgical fellowship program, the candidate would have performed a minimum of 30 kidney transplant operations independently, as well as live and cadaver donor nephrectomies and other related general and vascular procedures. There will be opportunities to participate in active clinical research protocols and publish under the supervision of consultants in the section. The section holds regular weekly meetings including journal club, renal transplant pathology, and transplant committee meetings.
