Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine

In Saudi Arabia, as anywhere in the world, respiratory diseases are among the major causes of morbidity and mortality in children. Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Gen. Org.) provides advanced training for pediatricians to acquire the knowledge and skills to become a competent pediatric pulmonologist.

Our program has been the referral centre from all over the Kingdom for children with all kinds of respiratory conditions. Combining our well-trained and experienced staff with full supportive services (Pulmonary Function Test, Sleep laboratories, Bronchoscopy, Pediatric Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Pathology, Immunology, Genetics, ENT, Thoracic, Pediatric Surgery and Speech language pathology) our program offers the candidate an excellent opportunity for exposure to a variety of childhood respiratory conditions. Besides general Pediatric Pulmonology training, our program provides exposures in sub-specialized programs like: cystic fibrosis, children interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, lung transplantation, and neuromuscular disorders. Our program offers significant opportunities for research skills acquisition and participation in clinical protocol preparation.
