Overview:

Lower urinary tract symptoms affect many men worldwide and cause severe bothersomeness affecting their life. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the major underlying cause in older men. The management of BPH has witnessed a revolution since surgery was the only treatment several years back. Now, most patients respond well to medical treatment. But some continue to suffer due to treatment failure or unwanted side effects, mainly affecting sexual function and continence. Novel techniques have evolved, providing minimally invasive approaches to treat BPH. Some of these techniques have robust outcomes, while others are too new to conclude their risk-benefit. This meeting will address the differences in treatment and the latest technologies available for BPH and highlight their strengths and weaknesses. The audience will have an up-to-date view of these techniques and have an opportunity to explore their current role and exchange views and questions with the excellent expert faculty presenting the course.
