American Heart Association Grants KFSH&RC Gold Recognition Award

The Life Support Training Center (LSTC) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) received the Gold Recognition Award from the American Heart Association for winning the best LSTC in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and MENA region. The award was received in a ceremony held recently by the American Heart Association in Dubai.

Dr. Qasim Al-Qasabi, Chief Executive Officer of KFSH&RC, expressed his happiness as the LSTC at KFSH&RC won this advanced award from such leading prestigious international association. He appreciated the great effort of the LSTC workers of various teams.

“LSTC is specialized in training of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), whether to health or non-health practitioners to provide them with basic skills and knowledge to interfere and help people who have a heart failure until taking the necessary medical measures” Dr. Al-Qasabi noted.

Dr. Othman Muhammad Suleiman, Chief of LSTC and ICU consultant at KFSH&RC in Riyadh, declared that KFSH&RC came in the 9th rank internationally among training centers under the American Heart Association, out of 1050 accredited centers distributed to 67 countries all over the world. He mentioned that the importance of this award is reflected in the competition with more than hundred centers accredited by the American Heart Association in MENA region and 1050 accredited center distributed to 67 countries all over the world.

“In 2016, LSTC management at KFSH&RC supervised on the development of 5 new training locations for life support sciences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; therefore, the number of life support training locations at KFSH&RC became 8. LSTC management also provided training courses of distinct health care for many health and non-health organizations in the society; this led LSTC at KFSH&RC to become a distinguished, innovative and leading center in the American Heart Association” Dr. Othman added.
