Inauguration of King Abdullah Center for Oncology and Liver Diseases

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, will inaugurate King Abdullah Center for Oncology and Liver Diseases at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, the largest specialized center of its kind in the region with capacity of 300 inpatient beds plus infusion centre with 96 beds that are equipped with smart technology.

 

His Excellency Dr. Qasim Al Qasabi, Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, has offered on this occasion his gratitude to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for sponsoring the opening ceremony of King Abdullah Centre for Oncology and Liver Diseases (KACO&LD) and pointed out the tremendous support of the government to the health  sector in general and in particularly to the tertiary care because of the growing demand due to increase in population and spread of some complicated diseases that require high-skilled and very qualified medical staff, plus the advanced medical technologies.

 

He stated that KACO&LD represents a significant expansion to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh with 300 beds in smart rooms plus 96 beds of the infusion centre (chemical and biological treatment) and 8 operating rooms equipped with the state-of-the-art specialized medical technology in addition to other medical support services such as radiology, pharmacy and laboratory which will enable the hospital to double the number of patients who are accepted and treated in the field of oncology and liver diseases.

 

Dr.Alqasabi stressed that KACO&LD’s smart technologies will provide a new and improved patient experience where healthcare providers will have access to the latest equipment and an enhanced working environment. “This is a landmark occasion and our sincere appreciation and gratitude is extended to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz for providing their full support to the construction and equipping of the tower which has met the highest internationally recognized specifications”.
