Minister of Health Graced the Graduation Ceremony and Congratulated 178 Male and Female Doctors Besides 9 Graduates of Pharmacy Program

His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, Minister of Health and Chairman Board of Directors of the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC), honored 178 male and female doctors of fellowship and sub-specialties (Saudi Board) programs in addition to 9 graduates of pharmacy programs. It was the largest batch of graduates in the history of Postgraduate Medical Education Programs of KFSH&RC representing various health sectors in the Kingdom and several Gulf countries and some of the Arab and Islamic countries.

 

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the marching ceremony of the graduates and a video clip introducing the Academic Affairs and Training in the hospital.

 

On behalf of the graduates, Dr. Khalid Alshaiqi delivered a speech in which he said: "I am honored to be in the midst of the finest sons of this great nation, among a group of the finest academicians and researchers who are well known for their wisdom, serenity, and moral ingenuity. These qualities must serve as a solid foundation for developing specialization programs and raising the educational standards of students and building their personality.” He expressed his and his colleagues’ delight at receiving the advanced medical training that would contribute to the provision of high-quality medical care.

Dr. Saud Alshanafey , Deputy Executive Director of Academic Affairs and Training at KFSH&RC explained that the medical training mechanisms in the hospital are regularly upgraded as per the requirement and as necessitated by the global advancements in the field of medical education. He also drew attention to the long experience and big contribution of the Postgraduate Medical Education Programs at KFSH&RC, as the number of its graduates is increasing every year.

 

His Excellency Dr. Majed Alfayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of the General Organization of KFSH&RC, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Health for gracing the ceremony and honoring the graduates. He lauded the great support provided to the health sector in the Kingdom by the wise leadership at various levels, on top of which is the qualification and training of the highly specialized and competent medical cadres. He congratulated the male and female graduates and their families for this great achievement and expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Department of Academic Affairs and Training at the hospital for its stupendous efforts to achieve academic excellence.

 

H.E. Dr. Alfayyadh stressed that the General Organization of KFSH&RC puts medical training at the top of its strategic priorities in view of the significance of preparing highly specialized and competent medical cadres to contribute to human development in the medical field. He stated that KFSH&RCoffers 26 fellowship programs and 70 sub-specialties programs, which indicate the General Organization’s emphasis on training in view of its pivotal role in the nationwide provision of health care.

 

"We are pleased to announce the graduation of a total of 178 male and female doctors and 9 graduates of pharmacy programs representing various disciplines from all health sectors in KSA, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Egypt, and Pakistan, of which 77 male and female graduates belong to the fellowship programs (Saudi Board) and 101 graduates belong to the superspecialization programs,” stated Dr. Al Fayyadh.

 

H.E. Dr. Alfayyadh pointed out that the number of graduates since the commencement of the Postgraduate Medical Education Programs at KFSH&RC three decades ago reached 1883 male and female doctors from 14 nationalities, indicating that it was a natural outcome of the intensive efforts put in medical training and raising the quality of its outputs.

 

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Al Rabiah, honored a number of medical departments at KFSH&RC for their support, contribution, and role in the development of Postgraduate Medical Education Programs.
