King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh has been named the region’s top hospital in Oncology and Orthopedics in Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals: Middle East 2026 rankings, produced in collaboration with Statista. The recognition underscores the hospital’s leadership in highly specialized care and highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing presence in the global healthcare landscape.
The Newsweek rankings are based on three core pillars: expert recommendations drawn from an international survey of healthcare professionals and hospital leaders, an evaluation of general and specialty-specific accreditations and certifications, and analysis of patient-reported outcome measures assessing real-world improvements in quality of life and daily functioning following treatment.
The ranking follows a year of measurable progress at KFSHRC in advanced therapies and precision surgery. During this period, the hospital expanded its T-cell therapy program, treating more than 200 patients since its launch in 2021, established Saudi Arabia’s first gene and cell therapy manufacturing facility to support local access and technology localization, and achieved a global first in robotic surgery for the removal of an intracranial brain tumor, with the patient discharged within 24 hours.
The achievement reflects KFSHRC’s continued focus on evidence-based specialized care, the advancement of diagnostic and treatment programs, and the strengthening of its clinical and research capabilities, further consolidating its position as a leading medical reference at the national, regional, and international levels.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre has been ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and 15th globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centers for 2025. It has also been recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, according to Brand Finance 2024. In addition, it was listed among the World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek magazine.
