Currently a Principal Scientist and Group leader, specializing in Molecular Oncology. The major research interests have been the role of the tumor microenvironment in breast carcinogenesis and the identification of novel anti-cancer molecules and prognostic biomarkers.

Career Background

Earned the Ph.D. degree in Jun 1992 from Orsay University (Paris XI), and then joined the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (Clare Hall, London) as a post-doctoral fellow from 1992 to 1995. In 1996, he joined the Institute of Cell Biology (ETH, Zurich) as an associate scientist for 2 years. The professional career started at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center as a Scientist in 1998, and then was promoted to principal scientist in 2012, and chaired the Department of Molecular Oncology from 2015 to 2025. Has extensive experience in DNA repair, apoptosis, cancer biology, and drug discovery and development.
