Career Background

Prof. Alqahtani obtained his MSc and PhD in Cellular Biology from the University of Georgia, USA, where he also gained early experience in academic teaching and research. Following doctoral training, he served as an Assistant Professor at King Khalid University and King Saud University, contributing to higher education and scientific research in the biological sciences.

Subsequently, he transitioned to a full-time research career at KFSHRC, where he has demonstrated sustained progression and leadership, advancing from Scientist to Senior Scientist, and currently holding the position of Principal Scientist. In this role, he leads high-impact research programs in infectious diseases, genomics, and antimicrobial resistance, contributing to both scientific innovation and translational healthcare.
