Globally-renowned patient care.
We invite patients, families, staff, and colleagues across KFSH&RC to recognize nurses who demonstrate exceptional compassion, clinical excellence, and person-centred care.
The DAISY Award is part of an international recognition program that honors nurses who consistently go above and beyond in delivering outstanding patient care. We celebrate recipients across KFSH&RC through Nursing Grand Rounds and formal ceremonies, where they receive the DAISY Award sculpture, a certificate, and international acknowledgement through The DAISY Foundation.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award recognizes nursing leaders who create and sustain compassionate, supportive practice environments. Nominations celebrate leaders whose vision, mentorship, and commitment inspire nursing teams, strengthen professional practice, and positively influence patient, family, and staff experiences across all KFSH&RC locations.
When a young child undergoing chemotherapy could not have his mother at his bedside, staff nurses Futoon and Ruwayda became a steady source of comfort. Alongside expert clinical care, they offered kindness, emotional support, and a reassuring presence throughout an exceptionally difficult time.
Their compassion had such a profound impact that the child's father described them as "like mothers" to his son. They transformed the family's experience and showed the lasting difference compassionate nursing can make.
