Scope of Service
The Section of MFM provides specialized care for high-risk pregnant women because of maternal or fetal reasons. The services provided are comparable to high-risk units available only in the world leading academic hospitals. Diagnostic procedures including level 3 obstetric ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, non-invasive prenatal testing, and invasive procedures are utilized to provide families with known genetic diseases insights regarding their unborn child. Conditions treated by MFM section include:
• Preconception Counseling
• Genetic screening, ultrasound, and prenatal diagnosis
• Complicated Labor and delivery
• Pregnancy problems such as: Recurrent pregnancy loss, Preterm birth, Blood pressure problems,
• Abnormal placentation - Bleeding during Pregnancy.
• Maternal health problems such as: Heart disease, Pulmonary disease, Obesity, Endocrine disease, Gastrointestinal disease, Hematological disease, Renal disease, Central Nervous system
