Over the past 16 year, the aim of the Oncology Department in KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) – Jeddah Branch is to provide an excellent cancer care, education and to enhance clinical and basic cancer research by means of integrated teamwork, and in collaboration with the other relevant departments.

The establishment of the Department of Oncology was an exciting step towards multidisciplinary and collaborative research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we became one of the best national and regional cancer treatment and research center.

Each year hundreds of patients from different parts of the kingdom who have any of many kinds of cancer seek treatment in the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Jeddah.

We are very proud of our outstanding Bone Marrow Transplant program. The BMT service has grown over the last 15 years to become an established program treating over 50 patients per year. The service focused on the comprehensive evaluation and care of patients with complex hematological malignancies and other bone marrow failure syndromes.

In addition to preventing, detecting and curing cancer, the Department of Oncology is dedicated to the training of new specialists in the field of hematology, oncology, and palliative care. The fellows go through an intensive training program including educational activities, clinical care, and research.
