Our focus is in line with the overall organizational goals of achieving cutting edge research in the fields of Genetics, Oncology and personalized medicine in addition to strengthening clinical research. 

Our mission is to be a Centre of excellence in biomedical research. We are dedicated to the advancement of science, and the translation of research findings into better health care. We strive to provide an environment that enhances individual growth, collaboration, achievement and recognition.

We are committed to the enhancement of knowledge of disease by pursuing advanced research activities in five areas: cancer, genetics, environmental health, cardiovascular and infectious diseases, using a multidisciplinary approach. The Centre's direct affiliation with the King Faisal Specialist Hospital provides perfect opportunity for scientists to collaborate with clinicians to identify research priorities and to translate laboratory findings into improved patient care.

We are dedicated to the enhancement of intellectual growth and professional development through a program of scientific activities as well as involvement in graduate and postgraduate education. 1- CITI Program Courses:
Research Centre-Jeddah has registered to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), an online education program.
Select CITI courses are available free of charge to all members of KFSH&RC-Jeddah with a valid KFSH&RC-Jeddah email account, including faculty, students and staff. Course completion is documented by a completion certificate.

2- Human Investigations Program (HIP) 

The Research Centre is pleased to announce the third cohort of the Human Investigations Program (HIP) 2021-2022. The HIP is a research mentorship program run by RC to increase research skills among clinicians and junior scientists of medically-related disciplines (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Residents, Fellow and Clinical staff).

This initiative is an educational program aimed at creating an understanding of clinical trial designs and developing the skills and knowledge of young researchers in regard to conceptualizing research ideas, preparing research protocols, understanding statistical tools and databases, research ethics, regulatory/compliance guidelines, authorship, and publishing.

3- Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap)

Introduction

REDCap stands for Research Electronic Data Capture which is a secure web application for creating and managing online surveys and databases.

Although can be used for any type of work, but it is designed specifically to support online and offline data capture for research studies and operations effectively.

What can I do in REDCap?

  • Build online surveys and databases where you are in total control of its development.
  • Generate reports and export data to common data analysis packages (Microsoft Excel, SAS, SPSS).
  • Define project team members (data entry, statistician …. etc.) and control their privileges. 
  • Manage a contact list (emails) for survey respondents and track who responds.
  • Create a public survey link for public respondents.
  • Save data collection instruments/survey as a PDF.
  • And much more.
