King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH) in Jeddah continues to enhance the patient experience through initiatives that make access to care clearer, easier, and more responsive to patients’ needs, spanning referrals, inquiries, appointments, and clinical and non-clinical services.
In 2025, key patient experience indicators showed progress, with referral decision time reduced to 21 hours. This helped provide clearer early steps in the patient journey and more efficient handling of incoming cases according to each case’s medical and operational requirements.
The hospital also expanded access across multiple care channels. Virtual clinic visits reached 97,647, up 12.1% compared with 2024, while outpatient visits within core specialised services grew by 15.5% to 132,368 visits in 2025, reflecting wider access to both in-person and virtual care according to patients’ clinical needs.
Beyond hospital-based care, home healthcare visits in Jeddah rose to 14,924, an increase of 11.8%, supporting the delivery of selected services at home when clinically appropriate and helping reduce repeated hospital visits.
The initiatives also included enhancements to digital channels and the contact centre, improving access to information, appointments, and services. Analysis of patient feedback and satisfaction data has served as a key driver of improvement, helping turn patient insights into targeted service enhancements.
Therapeutic plasma exchange was also introduced in outpatient clinics, enabling patients to receive treatment without hospital admission and supporting a more flexible care experience, reduced inpatient stays, and a faster return to daily activities.
These efforts form part of KFSH’s wider patient experience programme, which has received local and international recognition, including the Gold Award for Best Patient Experience at the Saudi Customer Experience Awards 2026 and two Gold Awards at the International Customer Experience Awards 2025.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre was ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 12th globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centres for 2026. It was also recognised as the most valuable healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East by Brand Finance 2026, and listed by Newsweek among the World’s Best Hospitals 2026, World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026, and World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026.
