Advancing Bioengineering, Nanomedicine & Precision Therapeutics
Our laboratory is dedicated to advancing bioengineering, nanomedicine, and precision therapeutics through the development of next-generation, chemically defined biomaterials and nanotechnologies that address critical challenges in healthcare and sustainable biotechnology. Main research themes include RNA therapeutics and nucleic acid delivery, regenerative medicine and cell engineering, antibiofouling coatings for implantable medical devices, surgical adhesives, radiopharmaceutical theranostics, and nanotechnology-enabled agricultural innovations. By integrating synthetic chemistry, biomaterials science, nanotechnology, and translational bioengineering, polymers, hydrogels, nanoparticles, biomimetic interfaces, and unnatural oligonucleotides are engineered with precisely controlled structures and biological functions.
We target major clinical challenges including cancer, genetic diseases, chronic wounds, implant-associated complications, and tissue degeneration, while also addressing emerging needs in sustainable agriculture. A distinguishing feature of this work is the establishment of clear structure-property-function relationships that enable safe, scalable, and clinically translatable technologies.
