Project Summary
Stem cells are foundational to regenerative medicine, disease modeling, and tissue engineering. As clinical applications grow, so does the demand for reproducible, large-scale cell production under chemically defined conditions. We are developing nanostructured, synthetic, chemically defined and cost-effective substrates that enable long-term, stable expansion of human pluripotent stem cells under xeno-free conditions, powering breakthroughs in 2D and 3D cell expansion. Our synthetic substrates fill a critical gap in the cell culture market by offering a low-cost, high-performance alternative to peptide-based systems. This enables broader accessibility and clinical translation of stem cell technologies.
