KFSHRC Celebrates Graduation of 334 Physicians from Fellowship and Residency Programs

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) celebrated the graduation of 334 physicians from the Saudi Board across various medical and health specialties for the year 2024. This represents the largest graduating class in the hospital's history, reflecting KFSHRC’s steadfast commitment to developing national medical competencies and reinforcing readiness to contribute to the advancement of the healthcare sector.

The ceremony was held at Princess Haya bint Turki Conference Hall at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, CEO of KFSHRC, with the attendance of Professor Aws bin Ibrahim Al-Shamsan, Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and several hospital leaders.

Fellowship program physicians represented the largest group among the graduates, totaling 191. Meanwhile, 120 residents completed training in multiple residency programs, and 23 individuals completed specialized health diploma programs.

In his speech, Dr. Majid Alfayyadh expressed his pride in the graduates, stating that the day symbolizes the culmination of years of dedication and sacrifice. He urged the graduates to carry the message of healthcare with sincerity and professionalism as they embark on their careers in the service of their community and country.

Dr. Alfayyadh highlighted the substantial support provided to the healthcare sector by the Kingdom’s leadership, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He indicated that this support has resulted in the expansion of specialized training programs and the launch of initiatives to qualify national healthcare cadres according to the highest international standards.

He also extended his thanks to Alfaisal University for the effective partnership, as well as to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for its pivotal role in developing training programs and enhancing the capabilities of healthcare practitioners.

Graduating 334 physicians in 2024 demonstrates KFSHRC’s commitment to building a qualified national workforce that advances excellence in healthcare, education, and research. The Academic and Training Affairs Department has delivered over 200 specialized programs, many of which are internationally accredited and unique to the region.

This landmark also represents a key contribution to the healthcare sector and supports the Health Sector Transformation Program, a Vision 2030 initiative aimed at developing a model healthcare system focused on prevention and empowered national talent.
