Summary

Performs a variety of tasks in clinical settings in collaboration with medical and nursing staff and accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to specific patient population.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Coordinates solid/ pediatricorgan transplantation with patient, donors, families, medical staff, organdonor coordinators and administrative staff.
  2. Provides care to adult/pediatric Patients with and stage organ disease, potential living related solid/pediatric organ donors and cadaveric donors.
  3. Provides appropriatefollow-up care to recipients and donors ensuring all relevant information isavailable to enable patients to make informed decisions and choices concerningtheir treatment options.
  4. Maintains and regularlyreviews clinical status of adult/ pediatric patients on the waiting list fordonation and ensure all diagnostic investigations and results are up to date;ensuring logistical arrangements are in place to facilitate emergency admissionfor transplant.
  5. Coordinates care ofpotential organ transplant patients, potential donors, transplant candidateevaluation process, organizes organ procurement, transplant discharge planning,and follows post-transplant care.
  6. Functions as aspecialist nurse to provide support and education to staff and patients in thespecific specialty areas.
  7. Organizes andparticipate multi-disciplinary team conferences, rounds or meetings related tocare of transplant adult/ pediatric patient or program issues.
  8. Responsible for orderingand following up diagnostic test and procedure as per physician order and solidorgan transplant protocols.
  9. Coordinates anddocuments patient care utilizing the nursing care plan, medical records,teaching material and patient teaching records.
  10. Documents all relevantinformation correctly, appropriately and in a timely manner.
  11. Supports and educationto staff patients and their families in the specialty area.
  12. Participate in 24-hourtransplant and organ coordinator on-call rotation.
  13. Follows all Hospital’srelated Policies and Procedures.
  14. Participates in self andothers' education, training and development, as applicable.                                                                          

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursingis required.

Experience Required

Four (4) years of relatedexperience is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Current Registration from country of origin andSaudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
