King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s leading non-profit academic medical center, to collaborate on clinical, operational, educational, and research initiatives related to autism and neurosciences. This strategic step reflects KFSHRC’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships in pursuit of medical excellence and innovation in patient care.
The MoU was signed at KFSHRC’s headquarters in Riyadh by H.E. Dr. Majid Alfayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of KFSHRC, and Dr. Tomislav Mihaljevic, Chief Executive Officer and President of Cleveland Clinic.
The MoU outlines the two parties’ intent to establish a long-term collaboration framework in the fields of autism and neurosciences. This includes forming dedicated project teams to jointly assess and prioritize potential collaborative opportunities, with the aim of strengthening KFSHRC’s leadership in delivering specialized healthcare.
This partnership comes as part of KFSHRC’s broader direction to build high-impact global collaborations focused on knowledge exchange and capacity building, efforts that support the development of research, education, and workforce capabilities. The initiative aligns with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the Vision 2030 programs, which seeks to enable equitable access to high-quality healthcare with a strong focus on preventive care.
It is noteworthy that KFSHRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and 15th globally in the list of the world’s top 250 Academic Medical Centres for the second consecutive year and has been recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, in the same year, it was ranked among the world's best 250 hospitals and included in the World’s Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek magazine.
