Under the Patronage of the Minister of Health: KFSHRC and NUPCO Sign MoU to Strengthen Medical Supply and Procurement Chains

Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr.Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Unified Procurement Company for Medical Supplies (NUPCO). The agreement aims to establish a general framework for collaboration to enhance and streamline medical supply chains, develop procurement-related digital platforms, and promote knowledge exchange in the fields of business development and information technology.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Riyadh and was attended by H.E. Dr. Alfayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of KFSHRC, and Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Shebel, Chief Executive Officer of NUPCO.

The MoU outlines cooperation in several key areas, including the development of NUPCO’s electronic marketplace platform, enhancement of logistics services, unification and integration of product catalogs, as well as strengthening clinical service alignment, knowledge transfer, and applications of artificial intelligence. These efforts aim to improve operational efficiency and elevate the quality of healthcare services.

It is noteworthy that King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 15th globally in the list of the world’s top 250 Academic Medical Centers for 2025. It was also recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East by Brand Finance in 2024 and was listed among the World’s Best Smart Hospitals by Newsweek for 2025.
