Esophageal Diseases Fellowship

The Education & Training Department is pleased to announce the upcoming “Esophageal Diseases Fellowship” offered by Gastroenterology Section, Department of Medicine, Medicine Centre of Excellence.


The 1-year intensive program is designed to address the increasing demand for highly skilled esophageal diseases specialists. It offers comprehensive training across various benign esophageal diseases. The trainee would be able to diagnose and treat benign esophageal diseases such as (but not limited to): GERD, Barrett's esophagus, EoE, esophageal strictures, esophageal motility diseases including achalasia. He would be trained to be able to perform and interpret esophageal physiology studies including esophageal manometry and esophageal pH studies. The trainee also would be able to perform diagnostic and some therapeutic esophageal endoscopic procedures. To note that this not an advance therapeutic endoscopy program and some advanced therapeutic procedure would be out of scope of this program.


Qualifications & Required Skills:
• To have the Saudi Board in Internal Medicine (or equivalent).
To be board eligible for Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship (or equivalent).
