King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH) in Madinah delivered 23,443 chemotherapy sessions in 2025, an increase of nearly 27% compared with 2024, as part of its oncology services that enable cancer patients in Madinah and surrounding areas to access advanced specialised care closer to their families and places of residence.
KFSH Madinah’s oncology services recorded further growth in 2025, with 743 patients accepted at the Oncology Centre, a 20% increase compared with 2024. Outpatient oncology visits reached 20,754, up 24.2%, reflecting wider access to cancer care across assessment, treatment planning, follow-up, and ongoing management throughout the patient journey.
Oncology services cover the care pathway from patient assessment and review of pathology and imaging results to treatment planning and the delivery of appropriate systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. Cases requiring specialised review are discussed by multidisciplinary teams to align treatment plans with the nature of the disease, disease stage, and each patient’s clinical needs.
Care also extends beyond drug therapy to include regular follow-up, management of treatment-related symptoms, nutritional guidance, psychological support, and palliative care when needed, helping patients navigate their treatment journey with greater stability and continuity.
KFSH Madinah has 400 beds and serves residents of Madinah and surrounding areas across multiple specialties, including paediatric and adult oncology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology. The hospital has also received 14 training accreditations across medical and nursing specialties.
