King Faisal Specialist Hospital Foundation and Al Jomaih Foundation Sign Agreement to Establish Stroke Unit

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital Foundation and the Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih Foundation have signed a partnership agreement to help establish and equip a stroke unit at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) in Riyadh.The unit will cover 870 square meters and have the capacity to treat up to 1,200 patients a year. With a total investment of more than SAR 12 million, it will be named in honor of the late Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih.

H.E. Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, signed the agreement on behalf of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital Foundation. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed Al Jomaih, a member of the Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih Foundation’s Board of Trustees, signed on behalf of the foundation.

“This unit will strengthen ourability to care for critically ill neurological patients, for whom every minute counts,” said Dr. Alfayyadh. “We appreciate the Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih Foundation’s support and its clear understanding of healthcare priorities. This partnership shows how national institutions can work together to make specialized care available to more patients.”

Sheikh Mansour Al Jomaih said: “We chose this project because of the direct difference it will make to patients and their families. We hope it will honor our father’s memory and continue his legacy of giving and lifelong dedication to serving the nation and its people.”

In recognition of the Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih Foundation’s contribution, the facility will be named the Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jomaih Stroke Unit, honoring his legacy through care that will benefit patients and their families for years to come.

Work on the unit is now under way. Once operational, it is expected to treat more than 6,000 patients in its first five years. By providing faster treatment in the critical hours after a stroke, it will help improve recovery and reduce the risk of permanent disability. It will also support training for Saudi healthcare professionals and clinical research in stroke medicine and neuroscience, helping advance neurocritical care in the Kingdom.

The partnership reflects the King Faisal Specialist Hospital Foundation’s commitment to turning charitable giving into healthcare projects with lasting benefits.
