Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, His Excellency the CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH), Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, and the Governor of the General Authority for Awqaf, Mr. Emad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, signed an agreement to establish a specialized endowment cancer treatment center in Makkah to provide advanced radiation therapy services, supported by SAR 380 million from the General Authority for Awqaf.

H.E. KFSH CEO Dr. Majid Alfayyadh and NHC Group CEO Mr. Mohammed Al-Bati also signed an agreement under which NHC will donate land to serve as the center's site, covering approximately 15,000 square meters in Makkah Gate Destination, one of NHC's destinations in Makkah Region, which spans 5 million square meters within the boundaries of the Makkah Haram, helping to improve access to medical services.

The center will enable cancer patients in Makkah Region to receive specialized care closer to where they live, reducing the need for frequent travel for treatment and easing pressure on existing healthcare facilities in the Western Region. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2029, with capacity to serve approximately 1,200 patients annually in the first phase.

The project holds particular significance in Makkah, given the city's population growth, increasing demand for specialized healthcare services, and the millions of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims it receives. By expanding cancer treatment capacity, it will strengthen the healthcare system's ability to meet future demand.

The project aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs, which aims to facilitate access to specialized healthcare services and enhance the contribution of the endowment and nonprofit sectors to supporting and establishing healthcare facilities, reflecting integrated cross-sector efforts to meet patients' needs
